We’ve been following the sonic evolution of Los Angeles duo THEY. for a little while now. From their grungey ‘What You Want’, to the more slick ‘Pops’ which still retained those signature strings, and now we’re talking about ‘Count Me In’. This is an introduction to Drew Love and Dante Jones’ new headspace, which we’ll be hearing more of in the upcoming album, The Amanda Tape. Once again, THEY. bring us in with those raw spacious acoustic strings and empathetic vocal, yet as you’ll hear in the undercurrents of this track, there’s a gradual shift in the atmosphere of ‘Count Me In’. The full transformation kicks in at 1:15 with that bumping bass and winding R&B melodies. It’s the kind of track that leaves you breathless, it’s that good. - Hannah Thacker
